Question from Waseca, Minnesota, USA:

My seven year old son was diagnosed with type1 diabetes about a year an a half ago, and his pediatric endocrinologist says ideally he should be seen every three to four months, but his next opening is six months after his last appointment. Is this acceptable, or should we try to find another doctor?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

If you cannot get appointments as often as you wish, and certainly when the doctor makes such a recommendation, either talk to the doctor directly or get another doctor.
