Question from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA:

My two year old daughter’s urine smells really bad. I have to get a sample from her, but I can’t get one to give to the doctor. Can you help me find out what it could be?

The most likely diagnosis is a urine infection. Only a urine sample can diagnosis the problem accurately. There are plastic bags that can stick to the skin to collect urine in a young child. It is important that you bring in a sample to analyze.
