Question from Louisiana, USA:

Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia (readings around 33-40 mg/dl [1.8-2.2 mmol/L] many days). I was then diagnosed with hypothyroidism and mild lupus. Recently, my fasting blood sugars have been around 130-140 mg/dl [7.2-7.8 mmol/L]. Could I be going into diabetes?

Answer:

The blood glucose readings are a little on the higher side than normal and can be an early sign of diabetes. It is worth contacting your doctor and looking into this more closely.
