Question from Church Hill, Tennessee, USA:

What are Polyols? Where can we get more information about them? Do they affect blood sugars sooner or later?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Polyols are chemicals, derived from sugar, which have a chemical structure that actually resembles that seen in alcohol. But, you cannot get intoxicated in the usual sense. While they are technically “sugar-free, ” they are not completely calorie-free. In large quantities, taken by mouth, they can easily cause diarrhea.
