Question from Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA:

What can the effects be if this person does not get their insulin? Can this affect their moods?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Wide ranges of blood sugars can be the cause of mood swings. First of all, if this individual has type 1 diabetes, then the lack of insulin could lead to ketoacidosis, a life threatening condition. Other effects could be increased urination, increased thirst, blurring of vision, headaches, loss of muscle strength. I would have this individual contact his physician as soon as possible.
