Meal Planning, Food and Diet

Question from Miami, Florida, USA:

What diet/food should you eat when you have diabetes?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

The diet for diabetes is really simply planned healthy eating. The Food Guide Pyramid is a good basis for meal planning and can be used in combination with a reduction in the amount of fat and sugar in your diet. You will notice fat, sugar and alcohol are in the very smallest portion of the Food Guide Pyramid. The amount of food you need would best be determined by a dietitian who is knowledgeable about diabetes and the various treatment regimens and who will help you reach your health goals.
