What is the internal structure of blood glucose monitoring systems?

Most work on the basis of measuring conversion of glucose by glucose oxidase. The resultant hydrogen peroxide oxidises a chromogen to produce colour which is then measured spectrophotometrically. The depth of colour is directly proportional to the original glucose concentration.
