Question from Toms River, New Jersey, USA:
Where can I get a list of “free foods” appropriate for a teenaged boy? He is counting carbohydrates.
Answer:
From: DTeam Staff
A list of free foods can typically be obtained from a registered dietitian who works with diabetes meal planning. Most free foods tend to be those things that are low in or free of carbohydrates and calories. Please ask the dietitian for a booklet called Exchange Lists for Meal Planning. This publication, which you can also order from the American Dietetic Association.
