Question from Farmingdale, Maine, USA:

Will there ever be a diet to cure diabetes like the one they have for epilepsy? The one for epilepsy controls the seizures.

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

There is no dietary cure for epilepsy but some forms of the disorder can be helped by using a so called ketogenic diet which is high in fat. The underlying problem remains unchanged. Similarly, a healthy diet assists in the control of blood sugars in diabetes. There will never be a ‘curative’ diet because the basic problem is lack of insulin. Sorry to pour cold water on your hopes.
