My daughter is 6 1/2 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes Type 1 2.5 years ago. She weighs 33 kilos. At her recent appointment her endocrinologist said her body is rejecting the insulin. I have never heard of this.

My 13-year-old daughter would love to be able to eat only when hungry, rather than on a schedule. She takes Humalog and NPH in the morning, Humalog at dinner, and NPH at bedtime. She isn’t interested in a pump.

My 7 year old daughter has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for about 3.5 years. She is on lispro and Ultralente insulins. She says the Ultralente burns when it is injected by itself. She says it hurts less when the Ultralente is mixed with a few units of lispro (when needed). Is this common?

My son will be visiting his grandparents in another state soon. In order to make this a little easier for his grandparents, I am wondering it I can go ahead and load the syringes with the proper amount of NPH ahead of time. Then, all they would have to worry about measuring and adding is the Humalog.
