I’m planning a trip to India for a year or so, but I don’t know what I should do with the insulin treatment. Since I have insurance only in Israel, I need to buy the insulin before I leave. Is there any way I can buy it in India at a reduced cost? I’m really in a bind, and I have to know what other people with diabetes do when they wish to go on a long trip.

I am planning on going to Australia in the Fall for approximately a year, and I am concerned about the availability and cost of insulin. Are U-100 Lispro (Humalog) and Insulatard available? In Australia, I am assuming I would not be entitled to free prescriptions and would like to know how much I would expect to pay for my insulin.
