I was diagnosed at age 10 and I’ve felt like this disease has weighed down on me so much through out my life. I feel like this award will remind me that I’m strong and resilient. And I’m a warrior for continuing to win this battle. I have gone through seizures to many overnight stays from DKA. I’ve been intubated as well. But I am still here and I continue to fight every single day!
