My diagnosis came at the beginning of my 8th grade year. I had lost 25lbs and one day couldn’t breathe. ICU released me after a week and the rest of my life began. I was MDI for 14 years and got on my first pump in 2014 after I had my first daughter. Now, 10 years later I will be switching soon to the iLet pump which should help me micro manage less. Fingers crossed. The leaps and bounds with Dexcom and the technology today have been literally life savings. I educate every chance I get and rock a 5.6 A1c.
