I am very proud of the fact that I have lived with type 1 diabetes for 50 years! When I was diagnosed, I happened to read a pamphlet that said my life expectancy would be on average 25 to 30 years after diagnosis. I am very thankful that has changed. So much has changed since I was diagnosed!
I am very grateful for all the new technology that has come along over the years to make controlling my blood sugar easier. I am happy to say besides frozen shoulder and trigger finger, I have not experienced any other complications. Fingers crossed that a cure will be found by the time I get my 75 year medal!
