I am so happy to be here! I was diagnosed at age 2 1/2 and now I’m 53. I don’t know life without type 1 but I know the marvels of modern medicine and am grateful. Back when I was diagnosed, they didn’t test blood sugar so you never really knew how you were doing. I thought testing blood sugar was amazing (except for the sore finger tips)! I now have CGM and Omnipod and am really looking forward to the future and a cure for all my T1D brothers and sisters out there! Life is amazing and I’m just glad to be along for the ride. Life does get better despite T1D for 50 years.
