Eva

Eva was diagnosed at five years old. What started out as a common cold, or so we thought, turned into a midnight trip to the hospital in DKA. We were treated by an amazing staff at the Summerlin Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nv and we quickly met our new Endocrinologist and Friend for life, Dr Dewan. We received a crash course in Type 1 Diabetes and got on a pump as quickly as possible.

Eva has not let diabetes get in the way of her life and activities. She is an active snowboarder, hiker, and high school volleyball athlete. While she has shown that she cant be slowed down physically, she is also a champion in the classroom. Eva has maintained a 4.0 throughout her entire school experience and plans on attending college to become teacher. Diabetes is something that she deals with but it does not define how she chooses to live her life.
