Hudson was diagnosed at the age of six in 2014. At the time, I (his mom) was pregnant with our third child and due three weeks later. I recognized the signs of T1D and took him to urgent care where we were told we had caught it early. He was not in DKA, so we had indeed caught it just in time. Hudson had been lethargic and eating and drinking a lot for a couple of weeks at that point. Today he is a healthy and thriving teenage boy who does not let diabetes hold him back!
