We were visiting family in Canada. The trip up up wasn’t fun. Dying of thirst, desperately needing a bathroom minutes later. I’d fall asleep then the cycle continued. Once in Canada I did nothing but sleep, drinking to an unquenchable thirst. Using the bathroom. I list a lot of weight in a short period of time. My mother and aunt took me back to the US. We went to the nearest military base. I was passing out while medical staff was running test. I don’t remember going through all the testing. Woke up in a hospital bed. Sure I was being told all this stuff I didn’t understand. I just knew I was going to learn how to give injections. Slowly got a grasp of what was happening. I hid being a diabetic. I was terrified for anyone to find out. Comments from classmates would make statements like oh yeah, you’re sick and and dying soon. I’m happy to say that I’m currently 65 and praying for several more! 😊💉😊
