I developed Type 1 Diabetes after developing Graves Disease and hearing loss. I immediately studied everything I could get my hands on to help manage this condition the best way possible. I had two young children and a very busy life. I didn’t want this to be too life changing and worrisome to my family. I was an early adapter to an insulin pump and participated in clinical trials at The University of Virginia. This included trials in closed loop technology with CGM. My goal is to lead a healthy life and not be a burden to anyone.
