Lucien Duplessis II
From his daughter, Crystal:
I’ve watched my father deal with type 1 diabetes my entire life. And being a nurse for 20 years, seeing how T1D can affect a person I can’t help but feel like my father is a medical miracle and feel blessed I still have him in my life. T1D took away so many things but he’s always kept a positive outlook. Most people don’t realize what this disease does to a person’s body. Because of T1D, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery at the age of 38. I’m already passed the age my Dad at 42 and can’t imagine what he has had to deal with a good portion of his whole life. But he definitely deserves to be recognized for his fight and his successes. Every day is a gift with him! And I can never say THANK YOU enough to the discoveries and progress of medical science so that we can celebrate him.
