Luke

Luke was diagnosed at age 8.5 while in the 3rd grade. This came as a huge shock to us but Luke took everything that came to him without complaining. He also never let it slow him down. He has always enjoyed a very full social life, spending a week away from home on multiple occasions and managing on his own. He played football and participated in track. He never let diabetes stop him from anything he wanted to do. He became an Eagle Scout, competed at the state level in javelin, was valedictorian of his senior class and is now excelling in college. He has been so responsible the last 10 years with diabetes management, even in spite of all the unexplained highs and lows. It’s never been easy but Luke makes the most of every day!
