I was diagnosed at 16 years old. I was in the hospital for five days over Halloween. I could sit on my hospital bed and watch kids Trick or Treat across the street. Everything from diet to treatment has changed completely. I have three children, have no kidney disease, no eye disease and all my parts. I use an Omni Pod and a Dexcom and since starting the Pod have kept my A1C below 6.5. I enjoy traveling and volunteering since retiring in 2019.
