Nicholas
From his mom, Jennifer:
Nicholas was diagnosed on August 25, 2014 at 4 years of age. He is treated at Boston Children’s Hospital. Our family is duly indebted to his Doctor and Diabetes Nurse Educator. They have been with us every step of the way. Nick’s story starts similarly to most young Type 1 Diabetics by drinking loads of orange juice and urinating constantly. Luckily, we caught Nick’s Diabetes very early and are extremely thankful that he did not experience DKA. His symptoms as I have expressed also included exacerbated very weak muscles in his legs which rectified itself within a year of diagnosis and lots of days with Miss Linda, her therapeutic skills helped Nick recover and become the very active teenager he is today. Nick plays competitive baseball and ice hockey. Thankful to pump therapy and his continuous glucose monitor, Nick remains an active, well adjusted teenager who is 95% independent for his diabetic management.
since 2014
