I remember being sick most of the third grade and being hospitalized around Christmas vacation and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Juvenile onset. My parents cried and I thought was dying. I’m about to turn 60, both parents and pediatrician are all deceased now. I’ve seen amazing medical technological improvements for managing T1D over my life, especially with CGMs and pump interactions. I’m doubtful I’ll ever see a cure for T1D but I’m happy to experience more freedom with Semi-Closed loop pumps and Control IQ. I’ve had consistent A1Cs of 6.0 +/- .3 for the past two decades because of these advancements.
