Question from Litchfield, Illinois, USA:

A company in our community awards scholarships to students who have overcome adversities. Do you know of any other sources for college scholarships that might be available to these students or students with diabetes?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

The only sources of scholarships that I know of are listed in a rather new section of On-Line Resources headed Scholarships — near the bottom of the page.

Additional comments from Dr. Stuart Brink:

Many colleges and universities have special scholarships available that do not get awarded each year. One should go to the office of financial assistance and see if diabetes is listed. It may also be available under medical scholarships, disability scholarships, etc., so one should be clever in looking for such help. Sometimes the office staff will be aware of how diabetes can be utilized in this fashion for financial aid. Local Lions Clubs are also another source to consider.
