CWD Editorial Guidelines
Who We Are
We’ve been online since 1995, offering families and caregivers guidance and support, with original, high-quality, science-based content and practical suggestions from trusted sources such as pediatric endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators, nurses, nutritionists, researchers, advocates, and fellow parents and adults.
We connect with our community every Wednesday with our weekly What's New email newsletter, and daily through our forums and social media feeds. New stories from people with diabetes and their families are published regularly on our website.
Science matters, and we regularly update our content to reflect the latest in diabetes research and care recommendations. Personal submissions from people living with diabetes and their families contain their opinions and may not necessary reflect the views of our organization. Our advertisements and personal essays are clearly marked.
Looking to Contribute?
We’d love to hear from you and are always open to submissions from the diabetes community. In particular, we are currently looking for:
- Stories about living with diabetes
- Personal experiences from our Friends for Life conferences or our CWD Events
- Experiences in diabetes advocacy
Editorial notes: Through all of our media channels, we do not use the term “diabetic” but instead prefer “person with diabetes.” When talking about diabetes, we use use “type 1 diabetes” instead of “Type 1 Diabetes.” If you include a photo with your submission, please be sure to have the rights to use that photo.
You can send your submissions to [email protected] and a member of our editorial team will get back to you as soon as possible.
