Question from New Jersey, USA:

I have six year old twins. Our daughter was diagnosed about a year ago. Her twin brother has symptoms so I tested him and his blood glucose was 359 mg/dl [19.9 mmol/L]. Could he have diabetes too? What should I do?

Answer:

You should review this promptly with your physician. If his blood sugar is indeed 359 mg/dl [19.9 mmol/L], it is likely that he has diabetes and needs treatment.
