Question from Lincoln, England:
What is Mauriac Syndrome now known as?
Answer:
From: DTeam Staff
Mauriac Syndrome used to be seen occasionally in England and was charcterised by very poor diabetes control, short stature, delayed puberty and a large liver. It was also sometimes the result of insulin deprivation. Nowadays it is hardly ever seen in developed countries so it has no modern name, though shorter term comparably poor control is sometimes euphemistically called ‘brittle diabetes’.
