Question from Delhi, India:

What do you mean by anxiety neurosis? What are its symptoms? Do people with diabetes or blood pressure have it? What are the remedies?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Anxiety neurosis is a old term which is used to describe a condition in which anxiety occurs out of proportion to the real danger of a situation, and which can lead to maladaptive behavior. It is treated with either psychotherapy and/or medication. It does not have to be associated with another illness, but certainly a chronic illness like diabetes can exacerbate the condition.
