Insulin, Meal Planning, Food and Diet

Question from Maryland, USA:

Can diet sodas increase blood sugar? When travelling, what is the best way to keep insulins from getting warm?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Diet sodas cannot increase the blood sugar as long as they are sugar free sodas and contain no carbohydrates (read the label!).

Use a cold pack to keep your insulin cool when traveling. There are several products on the market that will hold your supplies and a cold pack or you can use an insulated bag (often sold as a lunch bag). A bag of ice can be used when a cold pack is not available but take care not to freeze the insulin.
