Question from Duluth, Georgia, USA:
My child is six years old. She has not been diagnosed with diabetes, but I am concerned because her appetite has increased, she is always thirsty, and is complaining of being tired. Would a child this age have very noticeable changes in their routine? Would she become very ill?

I would suggest you take your daughter to the pediatrician immediately to have her checked for diabetes. The symptoms can start slowly, but rapidly cause serious illness if untreated.
