Can you have side effects from certain kinds of insulin?
Answer:
From: DTeam Staff
Certainly subcutaneous insulin can have side effects. By far the most important is that it can induce hypoglycemia. Besides that, it has been linked to both too much and too little subcutaneous fat in the injection areas. Very occasionally, there are immediate local reactions to insulin injection, but it is thought that these may often be due to traces of the medium in which the insulin is manufactured. Insulin given to the pregnant woman with diabetes may be a growth factor in the fetus.
