Blood Tests and Insulin Injections

Question from :

My husband and son both have type 1 diabetes and have their hemoglobin A1cs done every three months, but I would like a more extensive test done. Is there any test that can be done to check the pancreas?

I think you are asking about the reserve of the pancreas to make insulin. C-peptide is a protein made by the pancreas when insulin is made which can be measured after a standard test meal. If low, there is no insulin in the pancreas.
