Question from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, USA:

How do you rate a C-peptide value of 1.5? Is this somewhat low?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

In evaluating any clinical chemistry figure, you need to have access to the actual report or else you need to talk to your doctor or the laboratory itself. If the C-peptide level of 1.5 is in ng/ml, it could well be a low normal value, but this needs to be interpreted according to whether it was fasting, random or part of an IV glucose tolerance test. In addition, all commercial laboratories are required to show their own normal ranges immediately beside a result.
