My overweight six year old daughter tested negative for diabetes, but we saw a dietitian who talked about a calorie amount and fat intake for my daughter, but did not talk about how many carbs my daughter should have in a day. Please help.

About 50-60% of your daughter’s caloric intake should be derived from carbohydrate. Each gram of carbohydrate contains about four calories. All of your daughter’s food should be distributed using the guidelines set forth in the Food Guide Pyramid.
