Question from Staten Island, New York, USA:

Our seven year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 in May 2003. She is on a pump. Our question has to do with hiccups. Some days, she gets no hiccups at all. But, if her blood sugar is very high because she hasn’t eaten right or some other unexplained reason, she gets very stubborn hiccups on the way down as her blood sugar starts to tumble. Is there any relationship between the two?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

As far as I know, there’s no relationship between the two. I have not heard of this before.
