Blood Tests and Insulin Injections, Insulin
Question from New Delhi, India:
Since reusable insulin pens are not yet popular in India, I would like to understand and, hence, evaluate the option for doctors to shift a patient from insulin vials and disposable pens to reusable pens. What are the benefits that diabetic patients received from switching to reusable pens or any problems they encountered? Also, how do diabetic patients stock up disposable pens at home? Do they use multiple modes of administering insulin?
Answer:
If you search PubMed for “patient insulin pen” you’ll find many links to studies that have examined insulin pens.
Also, Novo Nordisk has information about their insulin pens on their web site.
You should be able to find what you need among those web sites.
