Question from India:

Can the total loss of sugar in urine and blood glucose levels be affected by a hyperglycemic diabetic passing more or less urine? Can urine glucose readings be affected by a diabetic passing more or less urine say, +4 when passing less urine and +2 when passing more urine?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

It is possible that dilute urine will have a lower glucose concentration in the urine. However, if this persists, eventually the osmotic diuresis will result in hemoconcentration and a higher urine glucose excretion. My take on the process is that the higher the glucose readings in the serum, the higher the readings in the urine.
