My four-year-old’s blood test came back as 138 mg/dl [7.7 mmol/L]. The doctor was concerned and wants a fasting test. My daughter has been sick repeatedly over the last three months and has recently been wetting the bed. Since the first test was a random test, is 138 mg/dl [7.7 mmol/L] that high?

No, it’s not that high. A fasting blood sugar and a urine analysis are the best to confirm the normal glucose metabolism.
