Easton

My name is Easton and I will be 12 in February. When I was 20 months old I had been sick and misdiagnosed with flu and then strep. The night of my misdiagnoses I was rushed to Primary Children’s where I left home to begin my journey with type 1. Even though this is all of my life that I remember, its not easy or fun but I’m glad for my pump, sensor and my family and that this is me! My family are my greatest fans and I have really supportive friends this school year! I like to think I am brave and strong and even though this is a big part of me I am reminded it’s not all that I am. It slows me down sometimes but doesn’t stop me.

I love Godzilla, Marvel, dragon ball and I know a lot about dinosaurs and I have played baseball and football and a little soccer but even though I am not on a team this year I still like to play. I love camping with my family, mostly country music and I like all animals especially dogs and personally my dog Brody! He’s the greatest! I have a blast hanging out with all of my family and my two older brothers are my very best friends. I like to play on my VR headset watch movies and build Lego’s with my friends. When I grow up I hope to be a Lego designer, I think that would be cool. My favorite subjects other than lunch and recess I’m pretty good at math( I think counting carbs and measuring since I was really young helped with that) and I enjoy science especially when we do experiments. I also like reading, usually graphic novels my favorite book series is wings of fire.

We recently moved to Northern Utah and even though I miss my family and friends we still visit a lot and I have grown to really like it here and my school this year. my favorite low treat is probably a few fruit snacks or honey. I usually have peanut butter, applesauce or milk and some juice though. I am excited if I can get the Dexcom G7 next year, that will be awesome!

I hope every one with type 1 knows how great they are. I am proud of myself for staying strong these past 10 years. I will continue to grow, learn work hard and try to stay positive. We are warriors all day, everyday. Thanks for my Journey Award.
