I was 10 years old when I found out I had diabetes. My dad also has type 1 diabetes. I was very scared when I first found out and angry. Why me? At first I did ok with my diabetes because my mom, who is a nurse, took care of me. During my teen age years I rebelled a lot and didn’t want to have diabetes or take care of my diabetes and I got very sick a couple of times. I finally learned to come to grips with my diabetes and now take good care of myself. I owe a lot to my family
