Diabetes hit our family hard! It was a huge undertaking and as usual a learning curve for the whole family. Our daughter was diagnosed at the age of 12, and the first year was horrible. Diabetes controlled our life, we had sleepless nights, high levels of worry and stress watching our daughter struggle emotionally with the burden that was put on her and wanting to give up. Finally after two years she got a pump and that was a game changer! She gained confidence and managed her Diabetes like a champ! I can’t express how proud of her we are and seeing her kicking diabetes’ butt everyday and not letting it control her!
