I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1974 at the age of 10 years old. At that time, the prognosis for living a long life was uncertain. Since then, I have lived a healthy life. I became a Registered Nurse and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I have raised two amazing humans and I have been blessed to travel around the world. The photo is of me on a tour bus in London. The Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis does not mean that you cannot live out your dreams. It is just a little more challenging to live your best life!
