Madeline
From her mom, Susan:
Madeline was diagnosed at age 3. We quickly found CWD and joined the parent group online. We went to FFL in Los Angeles (where her younger sister benefitted a lot from the sibling groups), we have a square on the original quilt, and even hosted Ruby the Bear for a week! CWD kept ALL of our family sane back then.
Now Madeline is a Critical Care nurse (who often encourages patients hospitalized with DKA), travels solo throughout Europe and Japan, went away to college – all of the things I was afraid she wouldn’t be able to do when she was diagnosed as a preschooler.
We are so incredibly proud of her accomplishments and grateful for CWD who taught me that there’s nothing our girl can’t do!
