Logan
From his mom, Wendy:
My son Logan was diagnosed at 2.5 years old. He doesn’t remember a life that does not center around the constant monitoring of blood sugar levels, calculating carbohydrates and dosing for meals and snacks. It’s been a tough and long journey and while he has his fair share of days where he questions “why me” he has always found something to be excited about. Whether it be excitement over the latest technology advances (I have videos of him getting so excited when he opened up his first box of Omnipods or the latest model of the Dexcom) or the opportunity to educate others about type 1 diabetes for a class project, he always finds a way to make sure that he doesn’t let diabetes control him. This is his first school year being 100% independent at school managing his diabetes and he is doing an awesome job. This award serves as a tangible object representing all the ups and downs that comes with this disease and a reminder to my son of how far he has come. 10 years type 1 diabetes strong!
