Hannah Childers
I was diagnosed at age 12 in 2006. The journey since has been long, but fulfilling. I went through a long period of undiagnosed depression due to the stress of the condition. Once I realized what was wrong, I found help and with medication am much happier. My doctors have always been so kind and considerate through the roller coaster of numbers. Through my doctors’ impeccable care and kindness, I’ve realized I want to be a nurse practitioner for pediatric endocrinology and am pursuing that future. I have been diabetic for 18 years and hope to be a role model and source of comfort for those like myself with type 1.

since 2006
