The CWD Journey Award is important to me because Type 1 Diabetes is an “invisible” illness. I think it’s impossible for someone without Type 1 to truly be aware of, and understand the level of effort it takes someone with Type 1 to maintain a healthy blood sugar range, 24/7. As such, normally, nobody really acknowledges this effort! I’ve spent years refining my blood sugar management. I did it in order to have 2 healthy pregnancies, and I’ve been maintaining it ever since. I do this for the sake of my family and for myself, and I like to share what I’ve learned with other people with Type 1 Diabetes in my Facebook groups.
