Brianna Stutheit
My name is Bri and I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2000 when I was 4.5 years old. In my teenage years, I really struggled with wanting to fit in and be a “normal” teenager. It wasn’t until I decided I wanted to be a nurse that I really started to understand that I was like everyone else, with the exception of needing to count carbs and give insulin. I was very fortunate was able to play softball from kindergarten until my sophomore year in college. I still struggle time to time with burn out but I know I’m not alone. I am now a pediatric nurse and I get the wonderful opportunity to teach my fellow nurses and patients and families what it’s like to live with diabetes and how “we” are all the same, and nobody is alone in this!

since 2000
