Carter Murray
When I was 11, my sister was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Four months after that, I was diagnosed as well. Ever since my time in the hospital that year, my life has been incredibly different. There is so much to life that people take for granted and ever since I was diagnosed I have tried my hardest to appreciate the small things, and to continue taking care of what I can. My diabetic journey has been a long and strange one, but now that I am older I have a greater appreciation of the doctors and other diabetics in my life who have carried me forward and motivated me to take care of myself better. This is something that will not go away, so I’ve decided to embrace it and not feel bad about it any longer.
