Miriam

My daughter Miriam was diagnosed when she was in 1st grade. Miriam is now a Junior in HS, she was diagnosed 10 years ago.
While the journey has been difficult, Miriam has been a warrior through it all.
One thing that we learned is that Type 1 Diabetes is 24/7 365 with no breaks. Miriam had to grow up so much faster than her friends because she had to be responsible for her blood sugar.
Miriam has had a great support system at home and she has had great nurses at school through the years. Miriam has also been in great hands with the medical teams that we have worked with.
Miriam would like other children to know that living with Type 1 doesn’t have to be a negative experience. Miriam puts one foot in front of the other each day and works hard to be positive each day.
